I thoroughly enjoyed decorating Healey Barn for Kieran & Vicki’s fabulous wedding. This stunning barn conversion in the Tyne Valley has beautiful views of the Northumberland countryside. It is full of charm and rustic features: its spectacular oak beams, candelabra and fairy lights provide a very romantic and captivating atmosphere. I loved arranging our hessian and lace runners, wooden slices, mason jars and milk bottles in the Dining room. Our illuminated letter set up combined with our crate and bunting for the cards and Kieran & Vicki’s guestbook all looked great in the Long Barn. The most challenging part was creating the doughnut tower. Vicki’s dad had made a fantastic wooden stand for the doughnuts, which looked fabulous and really helped to keep them all in place. Vicki’s mum had baked a gorgeous sponge cake which I placed on top and decorated with some berries. Everyone thought it looked great. One of my favourite items was the table plan; Vicki chose our vintage ladder and designed some really cool table plan vinyls to go on the ladder. Each had images of their favourite bands, which was different and very personal. In fact, Vicki had thought of everything. I love working with organised brides 🙂 It was a pleasure being part of such a lovely couple’s special day. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Ferguson.

Yesterday was a great day because I got to decorate this charming venue for the first time for Andy & Victoria’s exquisite wedding. The Parlour in Blagdon is my kind of venue; it is set in beautiful, rural Northumberland and has a very intimate and quirky feel to it.

Victoria had lots of fantastic ideas for her dream wedding. She wanted the entrance archway decorated with chiffon fabric and flower garlands and she also hired our vintage LED letter package which made the entrance very romantic and special.

The Willow Room, used for the Wedding Breakfast, was decorated just like Victoria and Andy had envisaged: with our shabby chic lace sashes, hessian and lace runners and wooden slices. A close friend of Victoria’s made lots of gorgeous bunting which was used to decorate the beams and also around the trees outside. It looked truly stunning.

Victoria fell in love with our rustic sweet cart the first time she saw it so I was delighted it took centre stage on their special day. The Parlour’s staff were a pleasure to work with; highly professional and extremely helpful. So there you go, delicious food in an enchanting setting. Andy and Victoria, I hope you had a wonderful day. Wishing you a happy life together.

The lavender in my garden is looking beautiful and green; it won’t be long now until it starts to flower. Every time I walk past it, I have to touch it; I love the scent it leaves on my hands and the memories that its fragrance brings back. Those endearing holidays in the charming little village of Eygalières in Provence such a long time ago. If I were to plan my wedding again, I would definitely go for a lavender inspired rustic wedding.
